Through the years, Theta Epsilon Omega remains steadfast in its efforts to uphold “service to all mankind” through meaningful service programs for the Greater New Haven community.
AKA Soror Squads
AKA Sorors Squads are focused on building greater bonds of sisterhood through common interests. Our Hiking Squad ventures out on hikes, while our Movie Squad enjoys movies premieres. The Five Below Squad thrives raising children under 5, and the Book Club Squad knows that reading is FUN-damental.
Random Acts of Sisterliness
Random Acts of Sisterliness offers opportunities for members to share accounts of smiles, caring sentiments, and other moments of happiness.
“We Are One” AKA Service Day
Theta Epsilon Omega is the lead organizer of the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Conference at Wexler-Grant Community School. This community-wide event has grown over the years involving over 700 participants and volunteers. The day features fun and educational workshops for all ages, youth and adults.
Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack (AKA CHIPP)
AKA CHIPP is Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood hunger program to date. In a new partnership with the New Haven Public Schools, we make sure that students don’t go hungry when schools are not in session. On Saturdays, we support families by providing youth with nutritious meals to take home over weekends and holidays. We are grateful for the generosity of community sponsors who help to support the CHIPP program throughout the school year.

Topics include goal-setting; foundations of leadership and success; civil and social awareness; community service; environmental awareness; career exploration; college readiness; and much more.
Financial Wellness and Planned Giving
There’s always something to learn in our Financial Series workshops. We secure the experts to deliver workshops, such as Building Wealth and Estate Planning, to help you build personal, organizational, and community economic wealth.
Caring for the environment is caring for ourselves! We actively participate in activities, such as tree planting, community gardening, waste reduction, and recycling, that will keep our Earth healthy.
Theta Epsilon Omega is a nonpartisan organization, but individual members have actively participated in politics on all levels of government. Each year, the chapter participates in AKA Day at the Capitol, various letter-writing campaigns, a robust voter registration drive campaign, and various voter education workshops.
