Greetings and Welcome to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Theta Epsilon Omega’s website. Theta Epsilon Omega is located the Notable North Atlantic Region under the leadership of our North Atlantic Regional Director and chapter member, Elicia Pegues Spearman, Esq.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, was founded 115 years ago on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC. Our founders envisioned a sorority focused on service to the community and sisterhood. With over 325,000 members in 1000 chapters across the world, Alpha Kappa Alpha members continue to live out the vision of our founders.
Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood. Our initiatives under this theme are focused in six key areas:
- Strengthen Our Sisterhood
- Empower Our Families
- Build Our Economic Wealth
- Enhance Our Environment
- Advocate for Social Justice
- Uplift Our Local Community
These initiatives will allow members to be intentional in addressing areas such as Childhood Hunger, Youth Leadership, Wealth Building, Protecting our Environment as well as informing our community about Legislative and Public Policy issues that impact our lives.
Theta Epsilon Omega was chartered on January 17, 1965, in New Haven, CT by fifteen trailblazing women. Fifty-eight years later, the dynamic women of our chapter are united in vision, and committed to our legacy of Supreme Service to All Mankind.
Theta Epsilon Omega partners with The New Haven Pearls of Excellence Foundation to provide scholarships to our students as well as resources and programming to the Greater New Haven area. I am honored to serve as President of this illustrious chapter and focus our efforts on implementing our international initiatives, building upon the outstanding work of Theta Epsilon Omega and ensuring our chapter is “Setting the Standard and Leading the Way”.
