AKA Day at the Capitol

  • 12 Mar 2014
  • 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Legislative Office Building, Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT

Throughout the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. members have addressed public policy issues, nationally and internationally, that impact the lives of all citizens.

Each year, as part of an organization-wide event, members from the Connecticut chapters converge at the State Capitol for a day designated as AKA Day at the Capitol.  It is a day that draws together Connecticut's constitutional officers, elected officials, AKA members and the public to encourage participation in the legislative process.

Join Theta Epsilon Omega and other Connecticut graduate and undergraduate chapters for AKA Day at the Capitol

This year, we will join the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) for their annual Women's Day at the Capitol.

Each year, the PCSW brings together legislators, public policy experts, members of community organizations and individuals to examine key issues facing women in Connecticut.  This event is free and members of the public are encouraged to attend this valuable opportunity for civic engagement.
